    Impact of Climate Issues on America’s Energy Coast Hearing” Feb. 24, 2010, Mobile, AL

    The “Impact of Climate Issues on America’s Energy Coast hearing” was held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Battle House in Mobile, AL. The hearing was designed to give the energy-producing states a voice in the ongoing national debate on climate change.  Findings from the hearing will be included in a report to be presented at the third America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum on May 26, 2010, in Galveston, TX.

    America's Energy Coast Policy Forum II – November 4, 2009
    The second America's Energy Coast Policy Forum was held on November 4, 2009 at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC. The second policy forum focused on specific steps to resolve the maze of bureaucratic roadblocks that threaten the long-term sustainability of America’s Energy Coast. Region at Risk: Preventing the Loss of Vital National Assets[hyperlink] was released in conjunction with the forum and describes the significance and uniqueness of the Gulf Coast, identifies major threats facing the region and outlines steps that must be taken to protect and restore this invaluable landscape.     The “Innovative Technology for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Hearing was held on September 30, 2009 at the InterContinental Hotel New Orleans, LA. The hearing brought together leaders in the energy technology industry, the national environmental and conservation community, academia, and government, will offer presentations on variety of topics including the recent national energy policies and the development of new technologies for oil and gas production.     America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum III – July 29-30, 2009
    The third America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum was held July 29-30 2009 at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi MS. The leadership forum focused on the release of three resolutions unanimously passed by the AEC coalition including the Conflicting Federal Policies Resolution[hyperlink], Proper Utilization of Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund Resolution[hyperlink], and the No Net Loss of Culture Resolution[hyperlink].     “Sustaining the Unique Cultures of America's Energy Coast" Leadership Hearing – June 1, 2009
    The “Sustaining the Unique Cultures of America's Energy Coast" Leadership Hearing was held on June 1, 2009, at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles, LA. Lake Charles Mayor and member of the America’s WETLAND Foundation board, Randy Roach hosted the “Sustaining the Unique Culture of America’s Energy Coast” hearing to address the growing number of threats our region faces as a result of increasingly intense storms. The testimony provided at the hearing offered compelling viewpoints and perspectives that will prove valuable to the America’s Energy Coast's continuing efforts to push for specific actions needed to sustain the Gulf Coast region.     America’s Energy Coast Leadership Forum II – July 24, 2009
    The second America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum was held on July 24, 2008 in Woodlands Texas.     America’s Energy Coast Policy Forum I – December 2, 2008
    The first America's Energy Coast Policy Forum took place on December 2, 2008 at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC. The group adopted an Action Framework[hyperlink] at the forum, which outlines immediate steps that must be taken to address major energy and environmental sustainability challenges in the region of our nation that produces 90 percent of our domestic offshore oil and gas.     America’s Energy Coast Leadership Forum I – November 30, 2007
    The first America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum was held on November 30, 2007 in Baton Rouge, LA. The first assembly of the America's Energy Coast, a one-day Executive Forum entitled "A New Sustainability for the Future of the Gulf Coast" brought together influential policy makers with leaders in academia, industry, conservation, and non-profit agencies from across the country to discuss the necessary balance between energy sustainability and environmental stewardship. The dialogue from AEC Forums elevated a shared vision of sustainability principles and work toward an accord among the leaders on issues of climate, energy, and the coast.
